Does having too many active desktops contribute to crashes in Smoke?
on Jul 27, 2011 at 6:20:16 pm

Hello.
One of my artists experiences regular crashes & I think it may be related to his overall workflow versus a problem with Smoke. he works using multiple desktops instead of out of libraries - would that cause or at least contribute to the multiple crashes? He seems to be the only one at the company with the crashing problem.

Thanks for any/all advice.

Are you saying that he is working with multiple source areas open? If so, that should not cause crashes. I've had as many as 20 source areas, and 20 record areas open at one time.

Yes, source areas.

Would 8-bit & 10-bit combo jobs cause crashes?

What version is it? And is there anything special that they are doing? Sparks? BFX? Are the other systems the same version/hardware?
