Creating new directory/Folder in SOM 2011 SP 5
on Mar 8, 2011 at 3:15:16 pm

Dear Smokers,

I use Smoke on Mac 2011 SP 5. I still have much storage space but i can not create new folder/directory in. Every time I create new directory/folder in SOM both in mediastorage or start up disc, SOM just does not allow it, it say my access denied.

In FCP we easily can create any folders we want but in SOM things look much different.
Need your info to how to create new folder in SOM. Thank you.

do it digital

Hi,

What you need to do is check the permissions on the folder that you want to create the new directory from in Smoke.

Smoke can be very funny with user permissions. Open up a finder browser and navigate to te folder you want smoke to work with. Select the folder and choose GET INFO. At the bottom of the GET INFO window you will be able to set the permissions. Set it to all users to read and write.

Go back into Smoke and try create a new directory/folder inside the folder whose permissions you have just altered.

Hope this helps.

Regards
Grant
