NEW 4KAY STORY BLOG POST: Text 101: Rolls, defining styles, tabulation & timing
on Jan 21, 2011 at 10:43:31 am

Hi Everyone,

I have posted a new blog on the 4Kay story!

TEXT 101: Rolls, defining styles, tabulation & timing

Carrying on from last week, I've notched up the text intensity a bit.  This week we focus on creating efficient credit rolls.

Now everyone involved in finishing has had to tackle a credit roll at some point in their career and I have done countless ones in mine.

I show you how to create a text roll and how use the infamous copy and paste technique to bring in external text.  We also examine stylizing the text for campaigns and versioning so you dont spend all your time formatting text.  Tabulation is a normal part of layout and its easy to get to grips with the tabbing menus in Smoke.

Finally we look at the credit roll timings in the context of the timeline.  Adjust the credit roll to suit the timing of the timeline.

Someone last week told me text was simple but there might be still a thing or two Smoke can offer you for this every day typographic challenge.

Feedback and requests are always appreciated …. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Regards
Grant
