We're working in HD {1920x1080 59.94i}{smoke 2009 SP4}, have material captured from HDCam {59.94}, and soft imported clips from some network storage. We can play in proxy, but in Full Res, the player stutters, even on the captured material. Our first thought was network issues with the soft imports, but even the material captured from tape is stuttering.

Has anyone had this issues? Anyone have ideas on what could be happening? We've tried to Force Process the timeline, to no avail. When doing an "Output Clip", - "Preview", most clips will play out, but not all. We created a new project, dragged the first minute over and it plays on the desktop, but as soon as its dropped into the rec area, it stutters.

Sounds like a hard drive issue. Are all the disks ok? Have you rebooted the framestore?
How full is the framestore and the Smoke system disk? When these get 95% full things can get flakey.

Used Space 422.24 GB
Free Space 413.67 GB

We've powered off/powered on. We've started a new project, and using the network, dragged the rec clip into the new project. It still skips. We've used clips captured in an SD job, and the audio sometimes plays, sometimes doesn't. The video has been processed in Action, so its always showing. Tried "Force Process" on the entire timeline, still skips.

When you do a storage test, what speed does it report?

Disk speed: 19.09 fps 0.05 spf 150.97 MBps Problem project
Disk speed: 46.06 fps 0.02 spf 364.36 MBps New project

We're thinking corrupt project. While playing Fullscreen Full Res top reads:
problem: %CPU: 25, %MEM: 35
new: %CPU: 75, %MEM: 35.

Tried dragging & copying clips from the problem to the new project, and they still stutter. So, I guess I'll export an edl and recapture in a new project.
