Hey Nick, do you know the story with stereo dual sdi out? Meaning will Smoke give L on one out and R on the other? Is Smoke for Mac different than Linux? I did some testing yesterday and it seems Smoke for Mac won't do dual out but it was mentioned in the manual. And I also saw AJA just released version 8 which does support stereo out on Kona 3 but Smoke was not listed. Any info?

Hi Robert,

You nailed it. The mac version only does interlaced and ana formats

Thanks, I guess the next test is if Hyundai monitors will work with the interleaved.

I have used the Hyundai stereo monitors with the stereo interlaced output of smoke.

Two things which I picked up on.

Firstly setting the correct field to be left and right eye when you enable stereo interlaced viewing.

Secondly all interlaced monitors I have seen so far tend to ghost a bit on the stereo but I guess that is the nature if the interlaced monitor.

If you want dual output viewing from Smoke on Mac than I suggest looking at a box like StereoBrain which will convert the interlaced stereo image into a dual output. Not sure how it works but its an alternative viewing mechanism.

Regards
Grant
