Importing Quicktimes

I am trying to import quicktime movies created in Motion 2 into Smoke vers 7. Nothing works. Is it a Motion 2 issue? A Smoke issue? Anyone have any similar problems?

I have very simple graphics created in Motion 2. I export the sequence as a lossless+alpha quicktime in the Motion presets. the Smoke won't import it. I have tried numerous other quicktime codecs. No joy.

Can you help?

Just curious.. are you on a Linux box? If so there is currently no QT codecs for Linux. You must import as a file sequence.

If you are on IRIX. Then QT animation is your best bet.

Nope. Not on LINUX. Still trying different QT types with no luck. Wierd.

There isn't audio on these Qts is there? Audio is a showstopper.

Also, what version of Smoke are you using? Some versions don't play well with QT 7.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm exporting using Quicktime Version 7.0.4 and the Smoke is Version 7.0.13. Not exporting audio.

As of now, you are not able to import a quicktime file into the Smoke. Your best bet is to convert it to a targa sequence.

Can you import any other Qts form another source? AE maybe? I would almost think that it is a motion issue if that is the only QTs giving you trouble.
And again.. I would use Animation codec as it seems to behave the best.
