Is there any way of doing subtitles quicker and with less typing (copy and pasting) than the XML route? it seems quite redundant to have to use all the paramaters for every line.

thanks.
Marc

Hi!

You do not need to have Font / Position, etc for every subtitle is they are all the same. You only need to create a Text setup that has those parameters and define the Setup in the XML. Refer to smoke documentation for more detail.

If you have some scripting knowledge, it should be simple to convert a text file that has the data of the text, timcode in and out and generate an XML file will the needed data to create a timeline.

Hope this helps!

Stephane, thanks for the info, i thought it seemed a bit redundant to have that for every line, and be able to make a setup file... agh.. my day has gotten better already...
