Smoke Online of Avid Bins or FCP xmls

I'm working for a shop that is seriously looking into replacing our current online tools for a smoke/discreet workflow. Has anyone tried successfully doing a conform from an Avid Bin (like what they announced at IBC) or from FCP XML files? I apprecitate any insightful info.

Marc

Havent tried Avid, but FCP xmls, seem to work with no real problem. You just load them up, and you've got your multilayer timeline. Not all of the effects are supported, but most of them are. New Smoke is supposed to include an Automatic Duck plugin that will make the transition from Avid to the smoke easier. Again, haven't tried it out.

problem with XML from FCP that we had was that while it seemed translate quite well - smoke tried to capture a lot more than required....

IE job was 50minutes long but smoke wanted to capture 12hrs - perhaps this could be something to do with how the XML is prep'ed i'm not sure....
