Hi Usama,
I see you have lots of different questions about smoke, flame, DI etc posted which is the right thing to do, get lots of feedback from other users.
Here's my 2 cents worth (as a reseller)
As a "start-up" company you'll want to be able to handle just about any TV based work that comes in the door, right ? (You can't afford to turn work away)
Smoke DI is a great box, but may limit you in certain visual effects areas. Flame is also super cool, but isn't the cheapest solution out there.
I would suggest you look at TV Suite which is smoke & flint on Linux. It is perfect for SD & HD at 8bit, offers all the features of smoke DI and 90% of what flame offers (toolset wise) and is about US$100K cheaper than flame. The combo of smoke & flint would enable you to take on just about any job that came along.
Good luck
Chris.
