Source is 1080p, do I export as m2v with lower field for standard DVD?

Dear all,

I'm using Premiere Pro CC and Encore CS6 but no dynamic link.

Hence I'm planning to export my completed sequence as Mpeg2-DVD and then importing the m2v file into Encore for a PAL DVD.

The original footage is shot in 1080p.

So I'm guessing I should export the m2v in "lower field" as required by PAL DVD? Are there any issues I should take note of if this is the recommended option?

Or do I export as progressive and then let Encore do the conversion? If so, what exactly do I have to do in Encore?

If there's a better solution, plese let me know.

Thanks in advance!

I work with NTSC video and commonly create Progressive MPEG-2 DVD files and use those in Encore, and they do not transcode, don't see why you couldn't do the same in a PAL environment.

possible - same working with PAL as well. I wouldn´t use lower first - you can go progressive as well.
