Interactive video

I'm making a project for college that is an interactive short movie.
I was using Processing which is a easy way to program java, but has I progressed I realised it is very limited and can't reproduce high quality HD videos.

I saw online you can creative interactive videos on adobe encore, like if it was a DVD, is it possible?

I wanted to be able for the user to manipulate the video while the story is being told, for example, if the user makes a choice in the narrative that isnt quite happy about, he would be able to actually rewind the video to the point where he can choose another path. I'm pretty sure that is not possible on adobe encore and mostly every other way i can think of, maybe i will forget that idea and move on just with the normal choice selection based narrative.

What is your advice? should I try to make it on Adobe Encore? Do you suggest any tutorial I can take a look at to get started?

Thanks a lot for any information

Unfortunately not. DVD is very limited in its interactive abilities. Something like this is more suited web delivery with something like Flash
