video_ts folder
on Feb 11, 2011 at 7:36:53 pm

Hi, I have created two 7gb projects in Encore and hit a roadblock while actually creating the disk. When i try to build to a dvd disk, the program shuts down 3/4 of the way through (after encoding for over an hour). Any idea what I can do to make it work?

Also, I need to send these to a duplicator who has requested a video_ts folder. What output should I select in Encore to produce this type of file?

Thanks in advance!!

are you talking about duplication or replication?

never sent a VIDEO-DVD to replication - for that use DDP-images, especially with DVD-DL-projects.

cheers

I just need 100, so duplication.

Do I need to write a DVD image or a DDP image?

(Thanks so much, sorry for the seemingly stupid questions.)

if it is only 100 duplications made with a DVD-robot, you need to send an (iso)disk-image.

DDP-images are required for real repliaction.

Re: the build taking way to long and crashing 3/4 of the way through.
I've experienced that acouple of times and cured it by
1) Making sure I have more than enough space for the temp files on system drive (roughly 2x the size of your project).
2) Clean out the media database (I think in edit > preferences)

That cured it a couple of times, when it didn't I just rebuilt the project from scratch.

Quick questions, Have you ever successfully built a 7Gb project on you system before? Are you 64bit or 32bit and how much RAM are you running?
