Adding .scc file for closed captioning during authoring in Encore
on May 21, 2010 at 10:28:14 pm

I have searched on the topic of adding an .scc file for closed captioning during authoring in Encore, but am still a little unsure as to just how difficult this is to do and what kind of success rate are people having. I am using CS4. Can anyone direct me to a good, simple tutorial as a starter. Any comments?

Here you go.
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/EncoreDVD/4.0/WS10C7FD4F-0F5C-40f6-BDB2-6D1AD9D...

It's very simple, you don't need any help doc.
1. Place a video clip on the timeline
2. Select the video track ONLY(press Alt key and click on the video track).
3. Window->Properties
4. In properties panel, click on Browse button and locate a .scc file.
-> done :)

PS: you can't preview closed captons in Encore, use Windows media player on win or dvd player on mac.

Thanks for the quick response. In this project, I have a 71 minute single video/audio file with a menu setup of markers set for first play plus approximately 12 other sections as well as play all. Am I correct in assuming that the .scc file will always be synced to the video/audio file no matter how the menu selection is set up?

Closed captions are always encoded with the video assets, it has nothing to do with any menu selection setup.
