Blu-Ray Authoring in Encore

Seeing as Encore supports Blu-Ray, I am moving towards authoring HD videos. What are the best settings to use so that Encore doesn't have to re-encode videos? I was looking through Adobe Media Encoder and looking at the H.264 Blu-Ray compression, and assumed this was the correct choice. Are there certain settings that are better than others? I know that I'm limited for my menu in image size I use, but was unsure, for instance what multiplexing setting to use, what bitrate to use (i.e. -- 22 mbps?), what level to use (i.e. -- 4.0 or 4.1?), etc.

I know that the source video is all 1080P 24 fps XDCam 1920x1080.

Thanks!

-Mike

Do not go above 25 mbps (or your video may have issues during playback).

Level 4.0 and 4.1 just permit higher bitrates. You probably don't need to use 4.1, but it won't be an issue if you do.

2-pass VBR is the best. I usually set a target of 20 with a max of 22, and the quality is excellent. I would not go below 15 or 16, as you will start to see blocky compression artifacts if you do.
