I had to re-install my whole Suite for a PS problem according to Adobe Tech Support. After I did and updated all apps, of course my original complaint went unresolved but it created a couple other new problems. This concerns my new inability to connect with Resource Central. I can connect within Premiere. I've trashed the plist and also trashed User>prefs>Adobe>Adobe Encore>4.0 (the 4.0 folder).
This has been to no avail. Adobe support has been no use other than a 10/08 tech doc stating Adobe is aware of the problem and wait for an update!
Adobe provided the solution. I am posting the information just in case someone else has the same problem:
If you have installed the 4.0.1 update manually, and the problem still
persists, then please do the following:
1. Quit all applications.
2. In the Finder, go to Applications/Adobe Encore CS4.
3. Control-click the Adobe Encore CS4 application file and choose Show
4. In the Finder window that appears, open the Contents folder. Next,
open the Required folder.
5. Drag the "config.xml" file to the Trash.
6. Start Encore.
