Blu-ray (1080p) menu template .PSD? Anyone got one?

24 hours before a project has to be finished is a bad time to figure out that Blu-ray menus demand more hoop jumping than DVD menus.

I'll keep it simple. What I'd love to get my hands on is a basic 1080p menu template .PSD which has some generic 1920x1080 static background which I can replace with my own 1920x1080 .PNG, and a couple (2) of text buttons which I can finetune with different text or positioning. Then I could take this freshly modified template and import it into Encore CS4, once I have that in front of me again (it's on a friend's pc and he's taken it with him for the weekend).

The primary complication seems to be the need to have active/off/etc. layers for the button text graphics, and specific names for these layers. Compound that with my almost complete lack of understanding of how to use Photoshop, and it becomes easy to appreciate why I figure somebody's simple template would be an immense help.

Any takers? ;p

If you have After Effects and want an extremely impressive motion menu for your client, you should visit http://www.precomposed.com. The projects are designed for Blu-ray or Standard DVD, and include complete walkthrough video tutorials. The tutorials are available for everyone from the tutorial section, even if you don't decide to purchase.

Thanks for the reply.

Well, I am no professional at this. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression. The project I am working on is a home video for my family. I never anticipated running into so many issues before this weekend, which is when I wanted to show it. Most of those issues were in the form of Encore crashing for unspecified reasons, typically halfway through processes which took a day or longer to fully complete.

The point is that I'm looking at trying to finish everything in the next 12 hours or so, and a critical missing ingredient is an Encore-friendly menu .PSD, with compliant buttons and layers intact, which I can quickly and easily modify from within Photoshop. I don't need animation; really all I'm after is a menu indicating two different audio tracks to pick from (I developed a commentary track).

Much as I would like to get the project finished by this evening, it is not worth $89 for me to do so. In fact I have already exhausted my limited budget upgrading my pc. It's just a home video. I had hoped that somebody would take pity and use their doubtless grand expertise to slap together a .PSD in the ~30 seconds it probably takes for somebody who knows what they're doing (or has such a template already sitting around).

I'll keep hunting around for a free download, though.

Encore comes with HD menus in the Library.

Well, I didn't have Encore in front of me. Moot point. I'll have it again tomorrow, albeit a bit late for sneaking in a menu, heh.
