Replication Out of Encore Now Possible
on Jun 17, 2009 at 10:04:45 am

For anyone intrested, it is now possible to replicate from images made with Encore. The guys over at Rivergate Software have succesfully taken an image from Encore and have delivered the correct CMF images used in replication. The stream was MPEG2 and not yet sure of the detail on the encoding.

More news to come I'm sure.....

DVD replication from Encore has always been possible, if you master to DLT.

This is good news about Blu-ray images being replicable, though - thanks for sharing it!

I noticed it was Mac only software. I wonder if there is a PC alternative.

Probably not anytime soon. I know Larry at Rivergate says coding something like this is so much easier under Cocoa. shouldn't be much of an issue though since the costs attached to provided this service would easily pay for a new mac mini. :)

Eric - thanks for posting this info

It should also be noted that so far, the successful replication was created using MPEG-2 and PCM AUDIO streams, NOT Dolby Digital AC3.

We have also tested AVC encoding from Encore, and it would appear those streams have passed pre-replication testing, and stream verification as well, which is a VERY cool development.

What we're waiting on is the final solution for Encore to output AC3 streams that are properly-identified for BD Replication.

Those streams appear to work on recordables (BD-R/RE), but the testing for replication mastering is MUCH more stringent.

Hope this helps

I have to say because of Larry at Rivergate, and using his BluStreak software, we were able to get out Blu-ray replicated on time for our delivery date. Creating a CMF files was something we never expected when we began our Blu-ray project, but BluStreak made it fast and easy to deliver on a BD-R.
