Getting a DDP Image to Replicator
on Apr 24, 2009 at 7:42:38 pm

Can someone help me? Trying to get a DDP image onto DVD-R to send to replicator. Have sent many discs and they cannot seem to read them. Here is my process:

Here is the process that I have walked through to get the disc:

1) Output DVD Folder from Adobe Encore
2) Open Gear Mastering software, create new project DVD-ROM-UDF), import VIDEO_TS folder from Encore DVD Folder.
3) Using Gear - Convert Gear Project to DDP Image.

Settings:
Write Tape in DDP Format
Create CONTROL.DAT file with 2054 bytes per sector (not 2048)
Use DDP SSCRST 3 for CSS (sectore size 2054, DDP 2.0

General Settings:
Generate DDP Checksum
Generate Log File

Customer Tab:
Disc Title: Name of Project

CONVERT GEAR PROJECT builds a folder called: DDP_Name Of Project
Contains the following files:

Checksum
Control (listed as a video cd movie . . . I have checked it with a codec reader and it is actually MPEG2 . . 33kb)
DDPID
Gear Log (text file)
Image (again, a video CD movie . . . 4.5gbs)

Create new Gear Project - DVD-ROM-pure UDF
drag files from DDP folder into project and burn image to DVD-R

Any assistance/help would be appreciated. I have a DLT drive coming that I got off Ebay, but do not believe it will arrive in time to help me! Thanks!!!!

Try over in Adobe's own Encore User Forum - one of the resident experts, Neil Wilkes, has used Gear Pro extensively.
