Button Scroll Order
on Sep 27, 2008 at 12:57:29 pm

Hi All, (KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: have used PPro for quite a while but just upgraded and am new to Encore)(CS3)

Just can't seem to figure this out.

I have built my menu in PS. (Proficient in PS too)
Using Preview in Encore and after I burn DVD the menus do not tab in proper order.

In ENCORE their order jumps around

Menu Example:

  • Button One
  • Button Two
  • Button Three
  • Button Four
  • Button Five

  • using the DOWN or RIGHT arrow keys in Encore on the remote the order is, for example, Button One --> Button Two --> Button Five --> Button Three, etc. When I finally reach the bottom of the menu and use the UP or LEFT keys the order doesn't reflect the opposite direction of the flow as it was moving down the list.

On the DVD the remote's navigation doesn't work at all. The Play/Enter button works, and the rest of the function of the button works, i.e., after the specific movie plays the DVD continues to the next state that is set in that particular Button's Properties Override setting.

This, by the way, is the second level menu. The Main Menu works fine; only has two buttons on it.

I have made sure that the buttons are in the proper order in my PS file, and that they are numbered properly in each Button's Properties-

I have looked everywhere for information on button tab order to no avail.

Any ideas on what I need to do?

    Thanks for any help.

You want to manually route your buttons.

Open the menu, go to the Properties and uncheck "Automatically Route Buttons". In the Menu editor, click the "Show Button Routing" button and then drag and drop each arrow where you want it to go.

For more information, search the help for "button routing".
