Bad software. Have a search below for the same issue. It's just buggy, awful software. Sorry about that.

I found a solution..

as stupid as the problem is!!!!

Maybe will not be suitable for everyone, but it works if you have both computers on the same network.

1. copy all the assets to the second mac (as you will do anyway)
2. From Mac 2, connect to Mac 1 and remotely open the project from Mac 1
3. The project will open on Mac 2 and will ask to reconnect media
4. Reconnect media to the local folder on Mac 2
5. Save as the project on local hard disck on Mac 2 and you're ready to rock!

Stupid workarounds for stupid problems!

Cheers!

A solution to "This project was created on the Windows Platform" error
on Dec 29, 2009 at 9:42:21 pm

I can't say this will be the issue each time, but I've been getting this issue for ages, and somehow it finally dawned on me what happened, in this scenario at least.

I was consolidating a couple of project folders into a larger one, and moved the .ncor file as well. I had just been working with this project, and had just saved it right before I moved the .ncor file, so I knew it was something simple. All I did was move the .ncor file back to where it was previously located, and it worked fine.

Again - I'm not suggesting that this is the only reason this error would occur, but in my case it was a two-second fix and the right fix. Moral of the story, don't move anything until it's done. Good luck.
