New to Encore ... Adding Buttons to Motion Menu
on Jul 29, 2008 at 12:22:27 am

Hey,

I'm very new to Encore, and am excited to author my own DVD. Basically, before having any knowledge of Encore, I set up all my menus and transitions in After Effects. What I was hoping to do was to draw out "hotspots" over the motion menu to create invisible buttons, but I'm not sure how to achieve this. I also have simple roll over graphics made (such as an arrow that appears next to the link, for example), and am stumbling over myself trying to figure these out ... of course, I probably have to figure out how to make a simple invisible button, first :-) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Encore doesn't have a feature that allows you to draw hotspots on a menu.

Instead, you work with a menu file, which is a PSD (Photoshop document file). Any drawing would be done in Photoshop. Review Encore's documentation for layer naming prefixes, and what they translate into when you import the PSD as a menu.
