Encore CS3, Blu-ray and script
on Jun 6, 2008 at 8:09:03 pm

Hi,

Having worked with Astarte then DVDSP for several years, I was about to buy Encore CS3 for the Blu-ray authoring possibilities, but having looked through the forum and seen a couple of tutorials, it appears that although Adobe describes it as "the right choice for easy production of full-featured... DVDs and Blu-ray projects" it still doesn't support any scripting. Scripting isn't my favorite thing, but being able to offer a random play option is a requirement for some of my titles.

A DVD authoring tool without the possibility of scripting doesn't sound sound very "full-featured", so I hope I'm wrong. Can you do any scripting with Encore CS3, and does anyone know if it's possible to create a random play option?

Thanks for any help/info - I tried to download a demo, but could only get Premier, no Encore.

Nick

Encore won't provide that kind of functionality..yet. Check out this blog on current BD authoring tools:

I wouldn't even say "yet". I doubt it will ever have scripting.

The Premiere Trial should have Encore bundled with it.
