Encore Dynamic Link to After Effects?
on Jun 22, 2006 at 10:56:13 pm

I'm tring to Dynamic Link a Encore project, with a encore template menu with a moving background element. Into After Effects for some tweaking.

My problem is the moving background in Encore isn't transfering into After Effects It's transfering as a psd File, which doesn't move.

My work flow is:

File: Dynamic Link to New After Effects project

Menu: Create After Effects Composition.

Then go into AE and tweak. But it doesn't carry into my Encore Project.

What do I need to do to get the moving background into AE and then back into my Encore Project? O' I've got the Adobe Production Suite all purchased together.

Thanks for the help!

My problem is the moving background in Encore isn't transfering into After Effects It's transfering as a psd File, which doesn't move.

The workflow for dynamic link between Encore and After Effects is:

1. Export your static menu from Encore to AE, which opens it as a layered comp that you can animate the layers in, which you then either export a clip that you import back into Encore (or, more below, import the comp itself)

and/or

2. Import a comp with animation from AE, make it a menu background, then return to AE as needed to tweak the comp.

There's no provision for bouncing an existing video clip from Encore into AE.

There should be a TotalTraining DVD tutorial for this in your Encore box which explains the workflow more completely. Also check the online help and Adobe's web site for more info.

Thanks for you help I believe it answers my question.

Except for the video clip (mpeg2) that encore created with its own templete.

By your explanation there is no way of exporting it to AE?
Does the Encore Dynamic Link not support Mpeg2 format just .psd?

Thanks

Encore to After Effects is PSD (menu)-only.

After Effects to Encore is AE comp-only...and from there, you can return to AE to edit the comp and it updates in Encore.
