Backup suggestions?
on Jan 28, 2006 at 7:02:03 am

alright..i have completed my reel dvd and need to store it somewhere so I can free up space. Now there are a lot of background animations that I decided not to use but want to keep them for future projects. The total size of the directory is about 28gb while the project itself ended up around 500 megs on the dvd :P Is there any compressor (other than rar and zip) that can shrink avis because I really dont want to dump so many files on so many dvd discs.
Thanks

You can use a DLT drive to back up your files (expensive):

If you are not interested in archiving the project across multiple DVDs then maybe an external drive should be considered. You can find decent 1342 and USB external drives that aren't too expensive. You can archive lots of projects on the drive if you pop for one with more capacity.
