dolby encoding with encore

I have a project almost finished in premiere 6.5. Do I need to import the clips into audition to encode them and then back to premiere 6.5 or can I encode them in encore and will encore work with premiere 6.5. Please advise and thank you so much for taking your time on this forum.

Jack- What is it exactly that you want to accomplish?

Encore can take WAV files from either Premiere (any version) or Audition and encoded them appropriately for a DVD. It can encode them as PCM, MPEG-2, or Dolby. Stereo only; if you want surround you need a separate encoder.

Am trying to prepare a DVD for a short for a film festival where it will be played in a theatre that has the 5:1 digital sound. Now obviously you have to tell the sound where to go so is that option available in encore?

Encore only encodes to Dolby Digital 2.0 (stereo).

If you want 5.1 sound, you'll have to create and encode it to Dolby Surround in other applications. You can then import the Dolby Surround AC3 file into Encore and your DVD will feature surround sound.

Hi all

note that any 5.1 theatre should be perfectly happy when it
gets just 2.0. Obviouisly it won't be surround then, just
ordinary stereo. But you should be able to play it back w/o
problem.

Hope this helps
