I was shooting and the whole frame shifted upward and made a slight beeping noise. Now when it's tipped it will make that beeping/whining noise. Video seems to be OK now when I shoot and it hasn't happened since.
Here's a link to the video. Anybody have any experience with this happening?

Is the contrast dial on the viewfinder turned to full? (I'm using an EX3) I've noticed mine makes a noise from the viewfinder when it is. I always assumed this was a feature Sony put in.

Open the SxS hatch and see if the noise is coming from within

That looks mechanical, like something on the image stabilization seriously freaked out. Notice that the image itself didn't jump upward...it seems to have accurately recorded while the alignment of the lens itself changed.

I just found out from Sony that it is a "Hard lens failure". Solution? Replace the lens. Cost? $1600 including labor. Lovely.
