...to the point:
Our regular test setup was that we recorded a small 3-minute video at 1080p@24fps (actually it is 23.98fps) compreesed onto the built-in SxS-memort cards (.mxf/mp4) of the Sony EX1 HD-camera.
Then after, we would play it back "de-compressed" via the SDI-Out (BNC) of the Sony EX1 ---> thru the MX02/Max(SDi-In).
Note: We prevously used a Blackmagic declink/SDI card to capture from Sony's EX1 XDCAM -using the "uncompressed"/"raw" (HD/SDI Out) BNC connector.
The SDI-out of the Sony EX1 was set to HQ/HD 1080p@24 (for film quality uncompressed 10-bit)
However, the decklink would only capture at firstname.lastname@example.org Hz uncompressed AVI (v210) format ? It wasn't that bad at all, but we wanted MORE! Wink
So, we got this Matrox MX02/MAX becuase it will capture uncompressed SDI-out 10-bit at 1080p x 24 fps (NTSC) ?
But the only way we can see the output of the Sony EX1 via the SDI-In of the MX02 is by setting the "Project Format" to 720p@59,94 fps.
The quality via Adobe CS5 is actually not that bad, but the point is,
- So What am I doing wrong here ?, and/or
- Has anyone else experienced this problem using a Sony EX1 (SDI-Out to MX02 SDI-In) ?
Regards, and thanks ahead for any feedback/help you can offer.
And well, excuse my "n00b"ness here.
