Dumping SXS Cards While Shooting

Does anyone have a better system for offloading SXS cards than simply dragging and dropping, then checking the file size matches once the cards copy to my desktop?

I wish there was some way of the computer (mac) automoatically verifying that everything copied over correctly

Any tips?

Thanks!

YIKES!
Use ClipBrowser 2.6 with CRC checking enabled.

Dumping cards during a shoot is a MAJOR RISK IMHO.
Get more SXS cards. If you can't afford more SXS cards get one of the well known SDHC adaptors and buy Sandisk Extreme Class 10 cards.

See above. It's been that way for a long time now. Probably since the first revision to ClipBrowser after the EX came out. Sometime during 2008 I believe.

Sony USA site won't allow download with Safari. You'd need to use FireFox. I suspect Chrome would work too.

Sony USA site has to win the "Razzie" award for worst professional site design by a major developer.
Cheers to the Canadian division for its site simplicity and focus on practical function.

Sony's Clip Browser software is designed to do exactly what you want: it's a copy tool. During the process Clip Browser will double check that everything gets copied correctly if you turn "CRC Checking" on in the preferences menu.

We just had a presenter at our Indianapolis Final Cut Pro user group show us "ShotPut Pro"

http://www.imagineproducts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&pro...

It's a verification process that works for P2, XDCAM, and the other tapeless...it was interesting...

I use Shotput pro instead of Clip browser. I like that you can send your media to three separate drives all at the same time and it still gives you verification. Then I use xdcam transfer to rewrap the mov files. .

Is copying to 2 drives using Shotput Pro any slower than copying to 1 drive?

It stands to reason it would be a little slower perhaps but I've never done a speed test. The transfer is simultaneous so you aren't waiting for one drive to finish before the other one starts though.
