Has anyone ever used this? - Hard disk drive for EX1

Hello

I saw this a few days ago and was wondering if anyone has used it?

http://e-films.com.au/shoppingcart/pages/e%252dHDR-(Hard-Disk-Recorder).htm...

There’s a brief forum exchange at DVinfo.net but was wondering if anyone else has an opinion?

Many Thanks
Daniel

Hello again

quick addition: it seems like it might work well in controlled environments. I don’t see any cables locks and it looks like you will need to keep the media slot door on an EX1 open while recoding…

ohhh...the temptations of cheaper equipment.

Daniel: Thanks for the heads up. I have their MxR card/reader and have been very pleased with their product. I am sure this item will have the same quality. The only other record device of this capacity is the nano flash at three grand - you do the math. The only inconvenience I can see is if you were using a steadicam rig, but even in that case the weight of this could actually replace the weights for balance on the rig. If you get it, let us know how it works for you.
Good show!

Mims

Hi guys,

I have the Sony version-

which I find really good, but with this, you also have to leave the card slot door open, which I find a little unnerving.

Mary.
