I connected a Rode NTG-1 and used headphones to control the input, but could only hear in mono on headphones.
The micro was sold as stereo Microphone, but it seems it isn´t.

Without detailing your external switch and internal menu settings your post doesn't provide any meaningful information.

I use Sony 680s and it's quite stereo when the camera is setup for it.

If you believe headphones control input I think you may have a serious misunderstanding of audio.

The Rode NTG-1 is not sold as a stereo mic because it is not a stereo mic.

Thanks, meanwhile I got it. Using the Rode as CH1 and the inernal mic as CH2 works fine.

That's why noting your settings is important. Given the difference in mics though you may get all sorts of issues ranging from phase to aesthetics though.

"If you believe headphones control input I think you may have a serious misunderstanding of audio."

I meant control by adjusting the level switches and controling by my ears. :-)

"The Rode NTG-1 is not sold as a stereo mic because it is not a stereo mic."

Of course. I didn´t buy it. A friend told me, it should be stereo.

Anyway, thanks for your help.

[Günther Dilger] "A friend told me, it should be stereo. "
Always best to check with the manufacturer.

The built in mic in the EX is stereo. We wanted a good stereo mic and found Sony had one (about $1000) that's mono/stereo switchable. There are a small number of other stereo shotguns out there. They're quit rare.
