An alternative to Sony's S x S card reader?
on Feb 6, 2009 at 6:36:02 pm

I am looking for an alternative to Sony's S x S card reader if anybody knows about one out there. I invested in a USB to ExperssCard adapter from SIIG which works fine with my MxR adapters that I purchased from e-films. I assume that's because the MxRs are USB based? The S x S cards that came with my camera are not recognized. I think that $250 is a bit pricy for Sony's reader even if it transfers files faster.

I read a series of posts from earlier last year about this subject. Something on sale at Ebay was suggested but the page no longer exists there.

Has anyone found something recently that might fit the bill?

Thanks,
Adam

Both USB and PCIe.

Not hot swappable though.
Maybe this too from the same company

There are fundamental OS/Bios reasons why PCIe is not hot swappable so that makes Sony the only choice for that unless you have a laptop with Express slot.
