has anyone shot airel fireworks wit the ex1?
can you recomend settings?

I've shot fireworks. I'm not sure what you mean by ariel fireworks. I didn't shoot from helicopter. Just ground.

Did you look at the link? Shows the fireworks and mentions the settings. F1.9, -(minus)3db gain. Matrix HiSat, CineGamma4. 1080p30 shutter 1/60.

In this thread, the camera setting is described with the gain at -3. I've never heard of that. When does one use a setting like that? Thanks.

Many professional cameras have a -3db gain setting. EX1 is one of them. Given the low light in the background I wanted to reduce any possibility of noise. I also wanted to bring down peak levels "just in case."

At F1.9 at night an ND filter would have darkened things too much.
In other words -3db can give you a bit more room when you need to open iris wide.
