Hello, everyone! I am new to this forum and am learning about Adobe Indesign via an online college class (we're on the 3rd chapter of the book now). I have a few questions and am hoping to get some good feedback from those who are much more knowledgeable about this program. Please feel free to respond to any or all of my questions:
First off, I've been wondering, what is the difference between Adobe InDesign CS5 & CS5.5?
Secondly, how would you describe the difference between using Adobe InDesign & Microsoft Publisher? Are they both the same kind of programs that have the capability to do the same sort of things?
Thirdly, I am interested in doing some cool border work with InDesign. Got any suggestions for me or can you send me somewhere to look at some images that have been created through InDesign?
What are the possiblities with InDesign?
Thanks for your time & any help you can provide in advance!
As far as border art goes, I would suggest Adobe illustrator and create the border design in vector. That way, resizing the art to fit your pages or other content won't degrade the quality of your work. I suppose Indesign has tools for creating custom borders, but I'm just used to doing it in illustrator since there are more tools and features to work with. Run some Google searches for Indesign custom borders and after clicking "search" choose "images" and there should be a gallery for you to view.
