How to make bigger spaces between words in a justified text?
on Dec 9, 2009 at 8:59:14 pm

Hello,

I want to make bigger spaces between words in a justified text.
If I make spaces between characters bigger, it doesn't increase enough spaces between words (sometimes it even makes spaces between words smaller, to make it begger between characters).
I'll trully appreciate any suggestions.
(I work with InDesign CS and InDesign CS4)

Thank you in advance.

Edit the justification setting of your paragraph and do not be affraid to use more than 100% as minimum for word spacing...

In the "Character" palette, you have the tracking control which will change the spacing between LETTERS. To change the spacing between WORDS, use the following commands:

more space = CMD/Option/Shift/forward slash (\)
less space = CMD/Option/Shift/delete

ps-None of my comments are meant to be gospel. Otherwise, I would write a book that provided all the cold, hard, fast answers that everyone assumes are out there. These are the things that I have found to work well with my shooting habits and workflow. Always try things out for yourself and deduce the best workflow for you.
