We are a book typsetters using InDesign. The problem for us is that some of our customers insist that we use the Oxford spelling dictionary for hyphenation breaks. I think that Indesign uses the Chambers dictionary which in many cases hyphenates words differently. This means that our readers have to spend a lot of time checking hyphenation breaks manually. Has anybody any suggestions on the best way forward this problem
Problem not solved. The only way is too sit with the Oxford word division dictionary and check hyphenation as you go along. Very time consuming. Probably through time you could build up a discretionary hyphenation set. Apparently you can buy an electronic Oxford Dictionaries where you can key in a word to check. I suppose it would save a bit of time instead of looking through a hyphenation book.
