Nested Styles

Hey Everyone,

I can't seem to figure out how to get this type of nested style to work. What I need it to is italicize the first letter in each name.

Like this:

Bill Cosby Sweater

It seems to do the first but quit after that. How should I set this up?

I am working in CS3 on a Mac w/ Leopard.

Thanks for the help.

Are you entering names one after the other on the same line as above, or will you have a list of names?

You might need to add something like a thin-space character before each name and use that special character as the 'stop applying' mark for the sheet.

Style sheets are applied to a hard return by default or whatever character you tell it to stop so a block of text gets it all until it detects a return (new paragraph).

Having multiple names of varying lengths would be tricky unless you use the trick above by inserting some special character (a thin space won't show and is minimal) before or after each name....then you can specify in the nested style to apply the style until that character shows up.

THEN, you use Apply Next Style so that it 'loops'

When I get to the office tomorrow, I'll post something I did that was pretty complex (and made me proud I must say) that will illustrate the concept.
