JPEG/TIFF files and pictures degradation
on Jul 17, 2007 at 4:06:53 am

Good Day! Im new in using InDesign CS3. I wanted to know how to import jpeg/tiff files in InDesign in such a way that the pictures are not degraded drastically. I tried to save the files in psd format but the same thing happens. The pictures imported are pixelated. Thank you

Archie

Your preview setting is probably set for a faster preview and not for highest image quality. When that happens, the images look pixelated even when they are fine.

Have you checked that?

If thats the case then If I will print my work will the pictures on it (in my layout) will be ok (not pixelated)? What's the best file format (jpeg/tiff/psd) for importing a picture in InDesign?

Thank you very much for your response.

Archie

Hi, I have the same problem, jpeg files seem pixaleted eventhough their resolution is ok.
And i'm trying to solve it out.
As you said maybe its because of the faster preview, how can i change it?
