Hardware query

Advance apologies if this seems a rather rudimentary question.

I am finally moving over to Mac for both editing and grading softwares having never used Apple before. I have been predominantly a Vegas user up to now. The specs for my proposed IMac are as follows, and I simply want to know if this machine will be sufficient to run both Resolve and FCP8. I can't afford a brand new machine so whatever hardware known to work from 2014/15/16 would be useful.

Apple iMac 27-inch - 5K Retina Desktop
3.2GHz Quad Core Intel i5 - 24GB (8GB Apple & 16GB Third Party)
1TB Fusion Drive - AMD Radeon R9 M390

If not suitable can someone give me heads up what I need to look out for in a used machine. Btw I have read BMD's spec sheet but it of course covers new components I'm not familiar with and not comparable ones I might be.

Thank you all for your help.

[Nicholas Lean] " I simply want to know if this machine will be sufficient to run both Resolve"

Yes, it should be fine running Resolve. I know Resolve prefers NVidia cards, but I know several Resolve users who use this machine and it's fine for them.

[Nicholas Lean] "and FCP8"

FCP 8 doesn't exist. FCP 7 was discontinued, and Apple then came out with FCP-X...which isn't like FCP 7 in any way, other than it also edits video.

An iMac with an i7 processor would be better for editing. Pretty much a requirement:)
