Would love to know when we might get FCP X drivers for BMD products. Have two DeckLink HD FCP systems and willing to beta if necessary :).

Saw that BMD just release version 9.1 of the Decklink and Intensity drivers. Will it improve Avid MC6 performance?

That in particular would be very nice.

Does it work with Ultrastudio 3D?

I think the point of today's FCP X announcement is that drivers for 3rd party devices for broadcast monitoring like BMD products are hopefully imminent.

My initial tests suggest the BM drivers don't work yet. Using 9.1 with an Intensity Pro and FCX it shows "no device found".

I thought it was something that would work after updating FCP X, but that's no the case. FCP X doesn't recognize my Multibridge Pro 2 with 9.1 update.

You need Desktop Video 9.2 beta 1 for Mac OS X, which is being released today. Just found out.

It's out, but the only output option I get is 720x486 @29.97

I downloaded the 9.2 beta driver - Blackmagic appears as an output device on the Final Cut X preferences but with only 1 option of output: a SD resolution of 740x 486 @ 29,97

But I have no signal output to my SDI monitor trough the Decklink HD 3D+

Anyone got video output yet?

Thanks

You have to set the video output resolution from the OS X system Preference Black Magic application.

If you monitor audio through BM device you have to set the ouput to blackmagic device in the sound preference of OS X as well.

Let me know how it goes for you, it's working "ok" here but of course this is beta so no complaining. The biggest issue for me is after playback from the timeline the screen is always black, it doesn't stop on the frame you stop or pause. You have to fiddle around with the scrubber or click on different clips to make the image come back.

Playback feels steady.

I checked System Prefs before posting, and it does say Desktop Video 9.2, but under the BM app in System Prefs, I don't have any resolution choices.

If you have 9.2 beta installed your BM system preference app will show this from the settings tab. It should have a mention of FCP X under the "Set Default Video Standard as:" dropdown.

Just change the "Set Default Video Standard as:" to whatever you use for editing.

Surely it's that I have an Intensity Pro. I don't have all those options, including Set default video standard.

Yep, that did the trick. A little cumbersome to have to switch it in system prefs, but it's a start.

Now if I could only figure out a way to get my edit out in a format my ProTools guy can use (a la OMF)...
I can dream can't I!

To export to Protools check this app. It's free.

Still no image here. I can send the audio to the SDI monitor from FCPX, but no image.

I tried different resolutions from the BM preferences panel (set the video standard as) but no video out yet.

Any ideas please?

thank you

Yes,

You have to set the audio from the apple system preference / sound.

Set output device to "blackmagic design..."

thanks,

RJ
