SDI to Analog signal loss/blinking
on Nov 21, 2011 at 8:20:13 pm

Hello everyone. I am having a problem with the component side of my sdi-to-analog converter I believe.

The setup I am working with is:
Sony BRC-Z700 cameras
Sony BRS-200 video switcher
Black Magic SDI to Analog
HD Component input TV

At long random intervals, 20 to 60 minutes apart, the component signal is lost by the TV which causes the TV to search it's inputs, and then it shows the video again. The downtime is only a moment when it happens. I had a component distribution panel to many TVs and thought it might be that, but when I bypass that and just us one TV I get the same effect. We also video encode the signal to a computer which does not seem to see the effect, probably because it only looks at the component input on the video encoder board, while when the TVs lose signal they try to reconnect. I have changed power locations for the SDI-Analog converter with no help. Has anyone encountered this before? Will this lose of sync just happen and the TVs are just are "stupid" and dont want for the signal to return?
