Capturing HDMI w/ BlackMagic Intensity Pro
on Sep 3, 2010 at 3:36:06 am

Hello All,

here is my dilemma,

I have the Black Magic Intensity Pro installed in my MacPro
and am trying to capture a screen saver in real time from a secondary PC.
The graphics card in the PC is an NVidia GeForce 315, and after conferring with BlackMagic I must have the PC card outputting in broadcast quality, ie YUV color space and in broadcast aspect ratio.

After contacting NVidia, the card does output in digital YUV, ie YCbCr and YPbPr. and I have the monitor on the PC set to 1280 by 720.

I am trying to capture in Final Cut Pro, so I have to set the easy setup in FCP to match the output. I set it up for Format: HD, Rate: 59.94 fps, and Use: BlackMagic HDTV 720p 59.94 - Apple ProRes (HQ), but I have also tried DVCPRO HD, JPEG and Uncompressed with no luck.

I only get color bars and never see anything other than that on my FCP Log and Capture screen. I am no expert, so please let me know what I am missing. I have surely overlooked some crucial but easy fix. The people at BlackMagic assure me that they have had people use this capture card in similar circumstance and get results. Please Help.

Thanks,
