DeckLink SDI Thermal issue
on Sep 25, 2009 at 9:05:53 pm

I employ DeckLink SDI in my system to capture video stream. I found the themperature of Xillinx chip on the card is very hot when fully running. After abou 30 minutes, the video image caputred is disapeared. I sent this card to Blackmagic RMA and they said it is defective card. I tried to ask for the root cause, but they don't provide it.

My questions are
1. what is the normal temperature for idel and oepration modes?
2. Is there any conflict between SDI card and my motherboard (Asus P5BV SAS)?
3. If I use another PCI-X capture card in the same system, is there any conflict or potential compatibility issue.

Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks,
Moon
