Media Express 7.3: Doesn't fit screen! HELP please!
on Sep 23, 2009 at 5:05:57 pm

Hi,

I just installed driver 3.3.1 for my Intensity Pro card. Whenever I start Media Express 7.3(the new one with the new interface) it doesn't fit on my moniter. There is no options or settings the resize it.

Here's a screenshot of the problem:

I hope you guys can help me fix the screen.

Hi Michiel,

What is the resolution of your monitor? Media Express current requires a 1920x1200 screen. However, this will be something we will be addressing in subsequent updates.

Lock resolution up to 1920x1200 - this is a bad idea, very bad idea.
Since many people use monitors less than 1920x1200.
This lock resolution makes it extremely difficult to beta test

Same problem, if we have to change our monitors for each programs...

1920x1200 = very bad idea in fact.

Any updates on this?

Until it gets fixed we have to use the old Media Express. I'd like to try out the new software, but it's totally useless on my monitor, which I used to think was pretty respectable at 1920x1080.

And for future reference, I have to agaree with the previous posts - a UI that only works at one resolution (and an uncommonly high resolution at that) is completely redonkulous.

I ran into this problem too on a Windows XP-SP3 box with a 1280x1024 monitor (newest version of Media Express 2.0.1). Until the fix is out, I found a manageable workaround if your monitor is not 1900x1200 but your graphics card _will_ support the higher resolution. In this case the steps below will put your display in Pan/Scan mode and you can see all of the application:

1) Right click on your desktop and select 'properties'
2) Click the 'Advanced' button
3) Select the 'Monitor' tab
3) Uncheck the 'Hide modes that this montior cannot display' box
4) Select the 'Adapter' tab
5) Click the 'List All Modes...' button
6) Select the resolution you want (e.g., 1900x1200) and click 'OK' and then click 'Apply'
7) Your adaper should now display the new resolution (if it displays nothing, it should revert back in about 15 seconds).

Your monitor will now provide a window (e.g., 1280x1024) onto a larger desktop (e.g., 1900x1200). Moving the mouse to the edges of the display then pans the window on the desktop.

After doing this I am able to get to all of the application controls in Media Express, I just can't see all of it at one time.

If your graphics adapter doesn't support the higer resolutions, I suppose you'll just have to wait for the software fix to the application.

I am having the same issues here with Media Express. I installed the DeckLink HD Extreme 3 over the weekend. The "restore down/maximize" icon in the upper right corner is not functional. I am not able to view the control buttons at the bottom of the screen. I have tried different monitor resolutions as well and have the same issues.

Isn't there an alternative program?
