Greetings all, I'm not accustomed to working with a capture/output card, but I'm wanting to set up an editing workstation with a Sony studio monitor CRT - probably a PVM-14L5.
So how do these CRT type monitors input RGB? Can it be through BNC or is it through VGA ports? I know that select blackmagic cards can output both ways through breakout cables according to their specsheets. I just don't have anything to work with currently so I'm not understanding the interface.
Another question - how does RGB output compare to YPbPr on one of these studio CRTs visually? Is it even possible to see a difference? I ask this because Film colorists would always use an RGB workflow but they had to work in the CRT's constricted gamut, and YPbPR/YUV are supposed to represent most if not all visible colors to the human eye.. I think.
