Lighting blue/green screen expirience?

O.K., I'm going to do my first blue screen shot with live action.
It's a low-budget production, so we're shooting on DV and the blue-screen is a painted wall.
I know, green would suit better with DV, but we're out-side in grass :o)

As far as I can recall, somewhere I read that the blue-screen should be ideally half of an f-stop brighter than your subject in front of it. O.K. with me so far. On the other hand, if DV has an dynamic range of something like 1.5 to 2 f-stops, that wouldn't leave much between the screen and the darkest area on my subject.

Maybe someone who does such things can give good hints.

Thanks folks,
-rayk

Bill,

thanks, I know this tutorial. My question was not really aimed on "how to get a good key from 'bad' footage (incl. DV)?", but how to light the screen and talent in such a way, that you get 'good' footage in first place.

thank you anyway,
