It sounds like you have a problem with your settings for this to happen.

It might be a good idea to re run the installer for Kona SD v2.0 from our web site. This will reset the preferences in Final Cut Pro and also install new easy setups. Just running the installer should fix it.

If you do change or modify any settings, then you would need to select the field order to upper field first when working in PAL. (not in DV PAL though)

Are you working with uncompressed 10 bit, uncompressed 8 bit, Online JPEG or DV playback?

DV is actually lower field first in PAL, which is different to all other PAL video equipment. We change this on the fly when playing back, so you can play normal DV clips to the SDI output, and all the resolution and field differences are sorted out.

This means even if you are working in an application such as After Effects, and want to render to DV, but it's going to play back to the SDI output, then you should still render the clip with the normal DV PAL settings, which is lower field first. We make DV clips compatible with SDI, so you need to make sure you use standard DV settings for any DV render files.

This is opposite to uncompressed 8 and 10 bit, and Online JPEG, as these are upper field first, which is the standard for video in PAL. I am not sure why DV is different, however it's just one of those weird things we have to deal with!

So seeing field problems is not normal, and it must be your settings. It would be best to check here first!
