I assume that the subpicture of your buttons contains ONLY the words? and you want ONLY The words themselves to be selected?
ReelDVD IS fairly simple and direct in that matter - your buttons are rectangle boxes. When you select a button - the entire rectangle area is selected - However - you can set it so that only parts of the rectangle will be visible to the end-user - hence - only the text and not the rectangle.
From what I understand you imported the "buttons" layer which contains only text - so you're pretty much there already. - In ReelDVD After you assign a rectangle button around each text area - you need to assign the colors (background+foreground+highlights) to that rectangle area - NOW : If you set a visible background to that rectangle - then whenever a user will select the button - the button will show up as a rectangle (and you dont want that) -so set the background color to "0" which is invisible (doesnt matter what color it is set to) that way you wont have the rectangle area selected but only the text.
Hope this helps.
