A warming filter applies it's effect to the entire picture, whereas in even rudimentary editors you can have complete control, coloring the blacks, mids, and whites separately. I think scenes shot with warming filters look like, well, scenes shot with warming filters. Perhaps you think that's attractive; I do not, but that's why they have so many flavors at the ice cream shop.

If you adjust your camera and lighting properly, you'll have no need to, "fix it in post," but I'm glad to have the skills of talented colorists to enhance my work.
