Sponsoring a documentary production and/or broadcast ?

Hi,

I wish to finance my next (low budget) documentary with sponsors and not go for commissions etc. Which is the best way to proceed ?

Adding to this, my last film might be going on a tv in the US which has asked me to find sponsors for the broadcast.

I live in France by the way, where tv channels just buy films. So this is all a mystery to me.

Hand-selling beats cold-calling, anyday. Call em up, ask em to lunch and pitch away. The more you have to show them the better.
