Footage for a film

We are making a effect of someone going back in time to the 80s and we need footage of large events in the past 19 years
example: 9/11, bush, the Iraq wars, first black president, ect, ect....
where can I find these online, and if I must buy them, where can i find them for a low price?
We found some 9/11 clips for like 2000$....no thanks.
If you know any great places, I would love to hear them

istockphoto.com is one of your better values for good stock footage at very reasonable prices.
However, for some of the earlier events in that time period, you'll have to find footage that originated on film (not video) if you need something greater than standard-def resolution... which will probably be both a bit harder to find and more expensive as well.
